I will be in three different parts of the world this month. Should make for great photos.
Just like they say in Benjamin Button, “You never know what’s coming for you.” Just as we were getting back into a nice groove in Curacao, my husband finds out he has to go to Abu Dhabi until the end of the year for work. Amelia and I were planning on spending December in Canada, but staying here until then as a single parent is too much for me. So we are heading over to the UAE with him. We are very excited to explore that part of the world. We are not looking forward to a 15 hour flight with an 8 month old. Please let me know if you have any tips!! I’m thinking lots of snacks and new toys.
Needless to say, Wednesday, October 9th will be my last class on the island until the new year. Anyone who still has passes valid past that date should speak with Eelke about options. I plan to return from Canada to teach Monday, January 6th at 9:30am. I believe school is back in by then too.
Eelke will be teaching Vinyasa Flow at her studio on Tuesday nights at 6pm for those of you who have been inquiring about evening classes.
For those of you I don’t see in the next few weeks, I wish you an awesome holiday season with your families and loved ones and a safe and happy New Year!
I’m so excited to say I will be teaching again this coming week!!! Our theme will be “Basics of Vinyasa Yoga” this week. Don’t be afraid if you have taken a break from yoga since last year. We are gonna have a lot of fun! This space is a lot smaller than Salsations, so please be on time to ensure you have a spot. First come, first serve.
Classes start Monday, September 2nd and Wednesday, September 5th from 9:30am to 10:30am.
The new location is at Fysiotherapie Eelke Esser, 33a Santa Rosaweg (beside Chopsticks Sushi)
My class pass cards are no longer valid as I am now teaching at a proper yoga studio.
Please see the pricing page for rates. She unfortunately can only accept cash at this time.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks and see you all very soon!
Hi everyone! I hope you are all enjoying your summer. It has been a hot one so far. I’m looking forward to some cooler weather at home in Canada in August.
For those of you still left on the island, I am offering a special price on private and semi-private lessons. Normally Naf.100- for 60 minutes and Naf.150- for 90 minutes. They will be at a special price of Naf.80- for 60 minutes and Naf.100- for 90 minutes.
For this price I come to you or your group and teach a class to your needs or specifications. Style, music, poses, focus, location is all up to you.
Please contact me before July 26th to schedule a class!
Hollie (and Amelia)
Here she is! Amelia Helen Sears was born at 11:46am on Monday, February 18th. 6lbs 13oz and 18inches. I went into labor on my due date the day after my mom and sister arrived from Canada. How perfect was that! I was in labor for 18 hours but not much damage was done and I was feeling great in no time. Although she screams a lot through the day, she’s a good sleeper at night. I haven’t been too tired and I’m finally getting back to my yoga practice after 7 weeks off. I feel very stiff for a change.
I have family here for the rest of this month but I will be offering private or group classes by appointment starting the first of May. Please call or email to set something up. The cost will be Naf.100- per hour regardless of how many will be practicing. I can come to any space you would like to practice. It could be your house, the beach or any space suitable for a yoga mat. I will tailor the poses, focus and music to whatever you or your group would like.
I plan to go home to Canada for the month of August. I will be starting scheduled classes again September 1st when Amelia will be old enough to go to daycare.
Hope to see you all soon!
I just wanted to remind everyone that for the next three weeks before Christmas there will be no Monday or Tuesday classes. The schedule will continue as normal with three classes a week. Wednesday 8:30am, Thursday 6pm and Friday 8:30am. As I have said in class, the last 9 classes will have a drop in fee of Naf.15-. You can pay per class or buy a few classes ahead of time if it makes it easier for you.
Our last class before my maternity leave will be Friday, December 21st at 8:30am. I will have tea and christmas cookies that morning if anyone wants to stay after class and chat.
The baby is due February 17th and I plan to start teaching again as soon as I can. I will keep you all updated through this blog. I hope you all keep up your practice. There are lots of other yoga teachers on the island but I would really recommend Eelke Esser. Click here for more info.
If I don’t see some of you before, have a Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
I hope you all are enjoying the change in temperature as much as I am. I love the rain but I do hate those mosquitoes. They seem to love me more than usual right now.
The yoga retreat last weekend was great. I hope those of you who went got to take advantage of all the great teachers this year. Milou is hoping to do it again next April, so those of you who missed it this time should try to make it next year.
I’m beginning to slow down because of the baby. Starting next week, Monday, October 29th, I will be cancelling the Monday morning class. Starting Monday, December 3rd, I will be cancelling Tuesday evening classes. My last class will be Friday, December 21st. After that, I hope to offer classes by appointment starting around the beginning of April 2013. I will keep you posted. I have updated the schedule page to make it more clear.
This week we are working on a restorative flow. Hope to see you all this week.
